Prompting more niceness and less nastiness...
BE NICE (notnasty.org) is a charitable initiative reminding people that Christianity prompts adherents to be more nice and less nasty towards one another. Without such adherance to Christianity people are generally inclined to be less nice and more nasty towards one another. Many people agree that Christianity is a very effective way to prompt positive behaviours and discourage negative behaviours (and that without Christianity behavioral control goes into reverse).
The evidence is clear that wherever people have turned away from Christianity there is an increasing breakdown in community cohesion (caused by reduced incidents of niceness and increased incidents of nastiness). The only realistic way to address the breakdown in community cohesion is for people to turn back to Christianity adherance (increasing incidents of niceness and reducing incidents of nastiness). The choice is yours, either respect the way Christianity helps to build healthy communities or disrespect Christianity and accept responsibility for an increasing breakdown of community cohesion. The situation is not helped when politicians and leaders fail to uphold the importance of Christianity in creating healthy communities.Â
No one is pretending that Christians are always nice and never nasty. However, the simple reality is that Christians are generally more nice and less nasty than they would be without Christianity. Put simply, Christianity generally makes adherents more nice and less nasty towards one another and helps to create more healthy communities.
Inspiration for this initiative comes from the Christian founder who plays croquet (that is often called the nasty game for nice people).
